Fall 2025 Story County Electronics Recycling Day

What is This Event For?

Electronic Asset Security has partnered with Story County to sponsor the Fall 2025 Electronics Recycling Day, available to all residents of Story County. Electronic Asset Security will securely recycle all electronics, Iowa’s ONLY R2v3 certified electronics recycler, based in Urbandale.

What Can We Bring?

Essentially, we accept any electronic item that isn’t an appliance. Please see the Events Page for more details on what is or isn’t accepted.

How Much Does This Cost?

How Much Does This Cost?

MOST electronics are free to recycle. The only exceptions are CRTs, TVs, printers, cartridges, and certain batteries. We have a complete pricing list HERE.

-CRT monitor or TV less than 19” diagonally – $10.00

-CRT monitor or TV 20” to 27” diagonally – $15.00

-CRT monitor or TV greater than 27” diagonally – $25.00

-LCD Television (any size) – $15.00

-Plasma Television (any Size) – $25.00

-Rear Projection or Console TVs – $35.00

-Consumer Desktop Printer (inkjet, small laser, plastic) – $5.00 ea.

-Business Desktop Printer (larger B&W or Color Laser) – $10.00 ea.

-Business Floor-Standing Printer/Copier – $25.00 ea.

-Ink or Toner Cartridges (in or out of printer) – $1 ea.

-Lead Acid Batteries – $0.25 per lb.

-Power Tool or LiPo Batteries – $2.00 ea.

-Sorted Alkaline, NiCd, NiMh – $2.50 per lb.

-Mixed Chemistry, Lithium Primary, Button Cell – $10.oo per lb

-DDR Batteries (Swollen, in or out of device) – $5 ea.

If you require a certificate of destruction (legal proof of destruction), we can provide one for $10. However, a certificate is not generally necessary for home users. You can still rest easy since ALL data-containing devices are securely wiped or crushed before leaving the facility, regardless of whether you paid for a certificate.

Yes! Electronic Asset Security specializes in secure electronics recycling. Our secure facility is audited and certified to the SERI R2v3 standard, the gold standard in the electronics recycling industry. Our facility is locked 24/7, monitored by security cameras with AI person detection, and all employees are background checked and drug tested. Local financial, insurance, and medical institutions trust us with their data, so you can too.

The event will be held at the County Fair Grounds at  90 I Ave, Nevada, IA 50201, between 10 am and 2 pm on Saturday, September 13th. The event will be in the Sheep Building. Please see the map below.
