All electronics will be securely recycled by Electronic Asset Security\, Iowa’s ONLY R2v3 certified electronics recycler\, based in Urbandale. \nWhat Can We Bring?\nBasically\, we accept anything electronic that isn’t an appliance. Please see the Events Page for more details on what is or isn’t accepted. \nHow Much Does This Cost?\nDoing the right thing shouldn’t have a cost. That is why Electronic Asset Security and the City of Waukee have agreed to accept ALL electronics for recycling free of charge during the event! Yes\, that includes TVs\, too! \nIf you require a certificate of destruction (legal proof of destruction)\, we can provide one for $10. However\, a certificate is not generally necessary for home users. You can still rest easy since ALL data-containing devices are securely wiped or crushed before leaving the facility\, regardless of whether you paid for a certificate. \nIs this Secure?\nYes! Do you have extra computers\, printers\, TVs\, or networking equipment taking up space in your storage closet? Are you unsure how to recycle your computer securely to satisfy your industry’s data privacy regulations? No problem! Bring it to the event\, and we will securely destroy your data\, recycle the rest\, and offer a solution for secure\, documented destruction if desired. Most items are accepted at no charge\, with some exceptions listed below. \nWhat Can We Bring?\nBasically\, we accept anything electronic that isn’t an appliance. Please see the Events Page for more details on what is or isn’t accepted. \nHow Much Does This Cost?\nDoing the right thing shouldn’t have a cost. Most electronics are accepted free of charge. However\, due to regulatory considerations\, there are some charges for certain items. \nCathode Ray Tube (CRT) Monitors or Televisions – $10-$25 depending on size \nLCD Televisions (LCD computer monitors are free) of all sizes – $15.00 \nRear Projection\, Console\, or Plasma Televisions: $25.00 \nSingle-Use Alkaline\, NICAD\, NiMi (AA\, AAA\, C\, D\, 9v) Batteries – $1.00 / lb \nSingle-Use Lithium (Coin/Button cell\, some AA\, AAA\, C\, D\, 9v\, etc) Batteries – $5.00 / lb \nPrinter Cartridges – $1.00 ea. \nAll Data Storage Media\, such as Hard Drives\, SSDs\, Flash Drives\, or mobile devices\, will be destroyed in bulk at our secure facility for no charge.
