Scheduled pickup routes across Iowa

Move retired equipment out of the building, with a record for every device.

We run a pickup route through each part of Iowa a few times a year, and when we’re already on the route there’s no travel charge. Tell us roughly what you have, and the office confirms the date and the price in writing before the truck leaves. Your certificate lists every data-bearing device by serial number.

What a route pickup is

We come to you on a scheduled route day, and you get documentation you can hand an auditor.

Most of Iowa is on one of our routes, and the form lists the next route Wednesday for each part of the state.

  • There’s no travel charge on a route day. Nine routes cover Iowa and the metros just across the border.
  • Each data-bearing device gets its own record with the serial number and the destruction method, documented to NIST 800-88 Rev 2. You never get one certificate for the whole load.
  • Everything else goes through our R2v3-certified facility in Urbandale, where we recycle or resell what isn’t data-bearing.

What it costs, and what we take

We publish our prices on the website.

What we pick up

We take retired equipment, old servers, the stack of hard drives piling up in a closet, tape drives, and boxes of CDs and DVDs. You don’t need a firm count, and we pick up anything from a box or two to a truckload.

Three questions we get on every call

Answers before you fill anything out.

Do the drives have to be out of the machines?

No, you can leave them in. We pull the drives, log each serial number, and destroy them, and if you’ve already pulled them you can hand us the box.

Can we watch?

Yes. Ask for on-site shredding on the form, and we’ll run the drives through the shredder in your parking lot before we leave.

What if our items have no serial numbers?

We count CDs, DVDs, and unserialized tape instead of serializing them, so the certificate lists a quantity. Anything with a serial number gets its own line.
